The Blue Like Jazz Movie

I’ve been a huge fan of Donald Miller and Blue Like Jazz for year and followed the movie since it’s pre-kickstarter days and today I got the chance to see the Blue Like Jazz movie at a pre-screening. My quick review: It’s brilliant. Much like a jazz composition it feels dissonant through out but finds a great resolution at the end. Here’s a trailer:

Go see this movie when it comes out on April 13th!

The Future of Media (or, Is Broadband Internet a Basic Utility?)

Read an interesting blog post today regarding one guy’s experience having Comcast cancel his broadband internet service for a year because he exceeded their 250GB usage cap for 2 months in a row. How in the world did that happen? I mean, I’m a fairly heavy user of bandwidth, and I’m confident I’ve never downloaded…

The Anatomy of a Host “Fight”

Below is a string of emails that took place earlier the this week. We thought it would be fun to give y’all a glimpse of how our discussions occur off-air. (Note: the order of some emails has been altered in order to help the story flow.) Keith (just sends the link, no commentary): http://thedailywh.at/2011/06/27/rumor-of-the-day/ Kevin: That would…

The Case of Unfulfilled Expectations

Jason and I were having a conversation last week about the fact that there are certain shows that we KNOW are good, yet we have no interest in seeing them, or we have in fact seen and we didn’t think they lived up to the hype surrounding them. We had a common example in HBO’s…

Enjoy his…

We also cover…

Cutting the Cable

You’ve probably heard Jason and me mention on the podcast that we are both ‘cable free’, meaning neither of us pay for cable to be delivered into our homes. I made the decision about 5 months ago when we moved as I was tired of paying nearly $100/month for channels that we hardly watched. Many…

How We Podcast

First Disclaimer: This might be the most boring post you read today, unless you read The Dullest Blog in the World or have some level of interest in podcasting; in which case, it might be slightly less boring. Second Disclaimer: We are amateurs in every aspect of the word when it comes to podcasting. Third Disclaimer: If you’re still…
